Jeff Ely is the Charles E. and Emma H. Morrison Professor of Economics at Northwestern University. He has explored many different aspects of economic decisionmaking, paying particular attention to the presence of imperfect information. He has been published in venues including the Journal of Economic Theory, American Economic Journal: Microeconomics, Econometrica, and Review of Economic Studies.
He is co-director of Northwestern University’s Center for Economic Theory, a member of several editorial boards, and co-author of the popular economics blog Cheap Talk. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
