Kerry McDonald is an education policy writer and unschooling advocate whose writing has appeared at Forbes, NPR, Newsweek, Education Next, Natural Mother Magazine, FEE.org, Reason, OZY, City Journal, and more.She is the author of Unschooled: Raising Curious, Well-Educated Children Outside the Conventional Classroom (Chicago Review Press, 2019).
Kerry has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bowdoin College and a master’s degree in education policy from Harvard University. She is a Senior Education Fellow at the Foundation for Economic Education, and a member of the Board of Directors at the Alliance for Self-Directed Education.
Kerry lives and learns together with her husband and four unschooled children (ages 5 to 12) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
