Lawrence Lessig is a law professor at Stanford University who has done much to influence the growth and development of Internet-related law and legal scholarship. He is the author of Code and Other Laws of Cyberspace as well as The Future of Ideas, Free Culture, and Remix: Making Art and Commerce Thrive in the Hybrid Economy.
Lessig is the founder of Creative Commons, a nonprofit organization promoting alternatives to copyright, and the Stanford Center for Internet and Society, which studies copyright and other online intellectual property. He holds a JD from Yale Law School, an MA in philosophy from Cambridge University, and a BA/BS in economics and management from the University of Pennsylvania.
