Mark Schultz is an Associate Professor of Law and Director of Faculty Development at Southern Illinois University School of Law. He is a specialist in intellectual property law. He is also a Senior Scholar and Co-Director of Academic Programs at the Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property at George Mason University School of Law.
Prior to teaching, Schultz clerked for the Hon. Daniel M. Friedman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C. and the Hon. Eric G. Bruggink of the United States Court of Federal Claims. He also practiced law for eight years, doing transactional work for high tech companies and litigating trademark, copyright, and Internet cases. He was SIU School of Law’s Outstanding Scholar of the Year in 2008.
Schultz holds a J.D. with honors from the George Washington University School of Law and a B.A. in International Economics from the George Washington University.
