Russell Saunders is a pseudonymous pediatrician in New England. He is partner in an academic suburban private practice specializing in medically complex patients, and is on staff at two world-renowned teaching hospitals, as well as having a faculty appointment at the affiliated medical school. He is a regular contributing columnist for The Daily Beast, where he typically covers topics pertinent to medical care and public health. His work has also appeared at Salon, and can still be found on occasion at Ordinary Times. He and his husband are the proud parents of four small children, and he enjoys running in his spare time. He does not actually wear a mirrored head band in real life.
